London, Feb 4 : Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has asked team fans to calm down by citing the example of Liverpool who haven't won a league title for 22 years. Wenger is under pressure after his side failed to win the last four Premier League games, which agonized fans. Arsenal has not won the league for the last eight years and has been deprived of silverware for the last six years.
"I don''t look at the table. Never. It''s very tight, it''s like that. We are in January and it can happen that we are seventh. But we are in a competition with Liverpool, who have not won the league for 22 years," The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying. He advised Arsenal supporters to stay humble and fight hard to support their team. Wenger said he wants the supporters to be happy at the end of the season and failure to do so will make him unhappy as well.\
"You have always to be humble and fight hard and support your team. I believe that we have played some great football this season and we have to focus on that. Football is a happy moment where people come together to watch the team they love." "I am here to make all of the fans happy and when I do not manage to do it I am, of course, not happy. What is most important is that we have our fans happy at the end of the season," he added. (ANI)
