Women more forgiving of John Terry’s affair than men

Women more forgiving of John Terry’s affair than menLondon, Feb 2 : A survey conducted has revealed that women are more forgiving of professional footballer John Terry’s affair than men, with only a minority asking him to step down as captain of the England football team.

The YouGov poll commissioned by ITV found that 51 percent of men believed the England captain should resign, compared with 41 percent of women, reports the Telegraph.

Of those polled, 46 percent said Terry, 29, should give up the captaincy, with 40 percent believing that he should stay on.

Details of his affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the former girlfriend of his England teammate Wayne Bridge, emerged at the weekend after a court injunction banning it from being reported was lifted.

Terry, who is married with two children, had tried to block the reporting of the relationship with Perroncel, but the injunction was revoked on January 29.

YouGov polled 808 adults on February 1 to gauge the public reaction to the affair.

The Chelsea player is expected to be summoned before Fabio Capello, the England manager, this week to explain his private life ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

His 28-year-old wife, Toni Poole, has reportedly been left “humiliated” by the revelations and flew out to Dubai on January 30 with the couple’s children. (ANI)
