World number one Henin quits tennis

Brussels - Women's world number one Justine Henin Wednesday announced her retirement from tennis with immediate effect.
The 25-year-old made the announcement at a news conference at Limelette, south of Brussels.
Henin had withdrawn from this week's Italian Open, citing fatigue.
She is the winner of seven Grand Slam titles, but the year has been disappointing so far, with defeats at the quarter-final stages of the Australian Open and in Miami.
Last week after elimination in the last 16 of the German Open in Berlin, she had spoke of the possibility of quitting, saying she was now at a phase of her life in which she was thinking more about her future after tennis. (dpa)
