Melbourne, Nov 9 : Former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne says that he can still be a match-winner at 42 for Melbourne Stars in the revamped Twenty20 Big Bash League.
Warne had retired from all forms of cricket in May following the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“I’m a young 42 at the moment. Let’s just see how it goes this year and we’ll take it from there,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Warne, as saying.
“I’m in such good shape at the moment. I wouldn’t be going into this and playing all nine games hopefully (including a semi-final and final) without a sense of confidence in my ability that I can actually go out there and make a difference,” he added.
The 41-year-old is expected to play the team’s opening match on December 17 and the derby against the Melbourne Renegades on January 7. (ANI)
