Sunny days bring some warmth to cold HimachalShimla, Dec 29 - Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh increased slightly with no fresh rain or snowfall, the weather office here said Tuesday.

"The minimum temperature in the state increased marginally Tuesday due to no fresh rain in the mid and lower hills and no snow in higher reaches," Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office, said.

He said that most of the places were witnessing sunny days in the past few days. But chilly winds in the mid and lower hills kept people indoors in the morning and late evening.

The state capital saw a rise in night temperature. It recorded a minimum of 4 degrees Celsius Tuesday morning, a rise of 1.7 degrees from Monday.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district and Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a minimum of minus 8.3 degrees Celsius and minus 3.7 degrees respectively. These towns Monday experienced a night temperature of minus 9.7 degrees Celsius and minus 5.4 degrees respectively.

Similarly, Bhuntar near Kullu and Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded lows of 1.7 degrees Celsius and 1.1 degrees respectively.

These towns Monday recorded a rise of 1.3 degrees Celsius and 0.9 degrees respectively.  (IANS)
