London, Aug 21 : Brit actress Helena Bonham Carter will be playing the part of children’s author Enid Blyton in a series of BBC Four dramas on famous British women of the 20th Century, to be aired in the autumn.

The series explores what spurred on these women at the height of their artistic powers, reports the BBC.

Anne-Marie Duff will be playing the part of ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn, Jane -Horrocks will play singer Gracie Fields, and actress Sophie Okonedo will be playing Winnie Mandela, former wife of South African leader Nelson.

London, Mar 07 : Hollywood actress Helena Bonham Carter has landed the role of renowned children’s book author Enid Blyton in major TV drama.

The BBC4 show will tell an interesting story of the author, who wrote acclaimed books like The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, Malory Towers and Noddy.

“It’s a long time since I have read such a well-written script with as complex and fascinating a character as Enid,” the Sun quoted Helena as saying.

This is the first time that Enid Blyton’s life will be turned into a motion picture.
