Teen who attended Prom with Jacksonville Jaguars Player Sen'Derrick Marks dies

Earlier this month, Jacksonville teen, Khameyea Jennings, attended her school's prom with Jacksonville Jaguars star Sen'Derrick Marks. According to reports, the 18-year-old teen has died after a battle with liver cancer.

Jennings' death was confirmed by Cindy Hamilton, spokeswoman of Wolfson Children's Hospital. According to Hamilton, the 18-year-old teen died on Thursday. Earlier, Jaguars defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks visited Jennings at the hospital where the teen was undergoing treatment. He also gave her a bouquet of flowers and asked her to attend Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology's prom with him. After that, Marks and Jennings went together to the prom.

Khameyea Jennings' mother, Laquandra Jennings, said her daughter enjoyed the time she had with Marks. According to her, it was a special day for Khameyea because she spent it with her friends and a special guest.

Laquandra Jennings said that for Khameyea, that was a day to be normal. It was an opportunity for her not to think about chemo, needles and levels of potassium. She wanted to enjoy the prom with a special guest, Laquandra added.

Marks, American football defensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars, drove Khameyea to prom in his Lamborghini. The pair made its entrance at the prome wearing white and gold. That night, Marks said, "I really want to make a difference. I want to do something where you actually make someone's day, to make a difference in someone's life".

According to reports, Jennings was diagnosed with cancer about two years ago. She was a graduate of Frank H. Peterson Academies of Technology. Her family and friends flooded the social networking website Facebook offering their support in the hours following Jennings' death.
