Bangkok - Thailand suffered another eight deaths from H1N1 last week, bringing the death toll to 119 since the new strain of influenza was detected in the kingdom four months ago, the Ministry of Health announced Wednesday.
The ministry said that there are now 14,976 confirmed cases of H1N1 infections since the first swine flu case was confirmed on May 12.
A ministerial statement said there was no sign of a decrease in the spread of the virus.
Of the dead, some 50 per cent were aged between 31-40, the statement said.
Meanwhile Laos, Thailand's land-locked northern neighbour, has reported one death to H1N1 and 242 cases, according to Lao Radio reports. (dpa)
