The fifth largest personal computer manufacturer of world – Toshiba has unveiled its new Artful series of notebooks for the Indian market. Toshiba’s new Artful series include four mainstream notebooks and two mini notebooks, priced in the range of Rs 22,990 – Rs 53,490.
The new Artful series of notebooks include NB200 Notebooks, Satellite M500, Portege M900, Satelitte L500, and Satellite L510. Sporting design features, such as chrome hinges and borders, textured surface and IMR patterns, the new Toshiba Artful have enough elements to attract buyers.
NB200 Notebooks — The Artful series of NB200 Notebooks include an NB200 Notebook sporting Cosmic Black color with fusion stripes and Black Flat Keyboard, and an NB200 Notebook featuring Satin Brown Color with a matt finish. The elegant and fashionable looking mini NB200 Notebooks feature 10.1-inch diagonal wide LED screen, QWERTY keyboard, and laptop sized touchpad. The notebooks boast of 3-D accelerometer monitoring system, which detects free falls, shocks and vibrations; it quickly moves the HDD head from between the platters safeguarding useful data stored on the high capacity (up to 160GB) HDD.
The NB200 Notebooks use 1.60 GHz Intel Atom Processor N270/1.66 GHz Intel Atom Processor N280 with Intel 945GSE graphics chipset. The notebooks run Windows XP Home. Other features of the notebooks include Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, Wifi (802.11 b/g), 10/100 Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports and a unique USB 2.0 port with sleep-and-charge function allowing to charge portable electronics, such as mobile phones and MP3 player, even while the machine is turned off, and 3.51 hours of battery life.
Satellite M500 — the notebook comes in a Premier Black color chassis with Champagne Gold Patterns. The notebook features Toshiba Fusion Finish based on IMR (In-Mould Rolling) technology with a Sonic Boom AERO design. The laptop comes equipped with 14.1-inch widescreen HD TruBrite LED Backlit display supporting HD 720p content at 1366×768 pixel resolution, and a built-in HD camera allowing high quality video recording. The notebook’s high definition LED backlight display features Clear SuperView Technology, 16:9 aspect ratio, and a luminance of 260 NITs. The notebook supports 802.11 a/g/n WLAN. Other features of the notebook include input touch controls, multi-touch track pad, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, eco-mode for energy saving, finger print reader, DVD Super Multi (Dual Layer) drive, a 5-in-1 Card Reader, ExpressCard slot, three USB 2.0 interfaces, and an eSATA/USB combo port supporting Sleep-and-Charge. The M500 uses Intel CoreTM2 Duo Processors and 3GB system memory. The notebook comes with hard drive protection for protecting valuable data in HDD.
Portege M900 — the 2.15 kg notebook is capable of doing most computing tasks. It sports a 13.3" high definition Clear SuperView display, with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and a luminance of 250 NITs, and a HD web camera supporting Toshiba's SmartFace Face Recognition software. The notebook features hard drive protection; fingerprint security suite for securing the valuable data; wireless LAN and Gigabit LAN onboard for offline access; Multi-Touch Pad with Gesture Support; pinch gesture for zooming in or out; ChiralMotion Scrolling for smooth scrolling; momentum motion for smooth, fast, trackball-like cursor motion; and ChiralRotate for rotating images and graphics. Other features of M900 include Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, a 5-in-1 Card Reader, HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an additional eSATA/USB combo port supporting Sleep-and-Charge. The M900 uses Intel Centrino, including Intel CoreTM2 Duo processor and 2048 MB system memory.
Satelitte L500 and Satellite L510 — are the notebooks for everyday computing tasks. Satelitte L500 sports a 16" HD Clear Super View display, with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, while Satellite L510 features 14-inch Clear Super View LED backlight display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The notebooks come equipped with VGA web camera supporting Toshiba's Face Recognition software. The notebooks come with embedded WLAN interfaces including draft-n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and Fast Ethernet LAN (10/100 Mbps) for connectivity. Other features of the notebooks include an HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) port, a 4-in-1 Card Reader slots, two USB 2.0 ports, additional eSATA/USB combo ports, and Toshiba's Eco utility4 which minimizes the power consumption. Satellite L500 uses Intel Pentium Dual Core and Intel Core 2 Duo processors, while Satellite L510 uses Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
Toshiba has not yet specified the prices of its new Artful series of notebooks.
