Acer has showcased the world’s first 24-inches full high-definition (FHD) wide-screen LCD monitor named, P244W at ‘Computex 2008’ in Taipei.

Brisbane (Australia), Aug. 21 : A Brisbane magistrate's court was told today that the father of an Indian Australian woman, who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in 2003, had an affair with his niece.

According to the Courier Mail, Vijay Singh had an affair with his niece and videotaped her and other women naked in his office, the court was told.

PC maker Acer has recalled a few of its Acer Aspire laptop computers, which may overheat owing to a defective microphone cable.

Acer has unleashed the Aspire Timeline 1825PT, which is essentially a cross between a tablet and a netbook.

This supposed convention is being given due to the swivel screen. Swivelling the screen up converts it into open netbook, and folding the same makes it a tablet.

It has been reported that the chairman of Acer Inc., predicted his Taiwan-based company would become the world's leading supplier of notebook computers this year.

Revenues in the coming third quarter were expected to increase 10 percent to 15 percent over the second quarter despite rising wages in China and Europe's economic turmoil, J. T. Wang told stockholders in Taipei on Friday.

On Friday, Acer has credited to announce the first seven-inch tablet dubbed ‘Iconia Tab A100’, in its Iconia line which is designed to support Android 3.2, a. k. a. "Honeycomb" and are available now in North America.

The Iconia Tab A100 family has two models featuring 8 GB and 16 GB of memory along with price tags of US$330 and $350 respectively.

Acer is planning to launch its Iconia Tab A501 tablet computer, on September on AT&T's 4G network.

The Iconia Tab A501 features a 10.1-inch WXGA display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and comes with a 1-GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and an integrated GeForce GPU. The tablet measures 10.24 x 6.97 x 0.5 inches and weighs 1.7 pounds, and has an Alpine Silver brushed aluminum chassis.
