Two immigrants get 15 years' jail on drug chargesWellington - Two ethnic Chinese immigrants were jailed for 15 years each in Auckland Friday for supplying methamphetamine, also known as ice or P.

New Zealand police say methamphetamine is responsible for the country's biggest drug problems, having led to a number of murders and other violent crimes.

Di Wu, 26, a Chinese national, was said to have 5.4 kilograms of the drug, worth about 5 million New Zealand dollars (2.95 million US dollars), in his possession when he was arrested with his accomplice in December 2006 after a year-long investigation, news reports said.

Chen Wei Huang, 25, a citizen of Taiwan, had more than 2 kilograms with him at the time.

Wu's attorney told the Auckland High Court that he was sending large sums of money from the sales of methamphetamine back to China.

Two other men alleged to have been involved in the same drug ring are still awaiting trial.
