On Sunday, military officials found two Navy SEALs that died from injuries suffered during physical fitness training in a swimming pool at a base in Little Creek, Virginia.

Navy officials said that two men, who were assigned to Naval Special Warfare Group T2, an East Coast-based Special Warfare Unit were found unresponsive at the bottom of the combat pool Friday.

Both men, Seth Cody Lewis, 32, and 34-year-old Brett Allen Marijhugh were taken to civilian hospitals. Lewis from Queens was enlisted in the Navy in December 2006 after serving in the US Marines Corps from 2001 - 2005.

Marihugh who was from Livonia, Michigan served in the Marine Corps from 1999 to 2003 before entering the Navy on December 4, 2006. In October 2007, he finished basic underwater demolition/SEAL training in Coronado before continuing on to advanced training.

He has served with East Coast and West Coast SEAL teams and earned multiple awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star. Lewis and Marijhugh died on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Capt. Pete Vasely, Commander, Naval Special Warfare Group 2 said, "Both of these fierce warriors were admired and highly respected among everyone who knew them. We will continue to investigate what happened. We owe it to the families and our teammates".

The investigation into the accident is still continuing. According to Naval Special Warfare Group 2 spokesman Lt. David Lloyd, both men were not using diving equipment.
