Two police personnel among three killed in Quetta blast

Quetta, Mar. 21 : At least three persons, including two police personnel were killed and over 14 others injured in a bomb blast in Quetta, the capital town of Balochistan, on Sunday.

According to eyewitnesses, the bomb, planted in a bicycle, exploded just when a police vehicle was passing by.

The blast occurred in a residential area near the residence of Mehmood Khan Achakzai, leader of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party.

Relief and rescue teams arrived on the spot soon after the blast and shifted the injured and dead to near by hospitals.

The blast was so powerful that it rattled several nearby buildings, shops and vehicles, The News reports.

The Bomb Disposal Squad arrived on the spot soon after the explosion and its initial investigation suggested that the blast was triggered by a remote control.

At least five to six kilograms of explosives were used in the blast, an official of the Bomb Disposal Squad said. (ANI)
