Two US soldiers killed in Iraq

Baghdad  - Two US soldiers have been killed in separate incidents in Iraq, putting the number of US casualties for December to 14, the US army said on Wednesday.

One soldier died of wounds sustained after an attack in Baghdad on Wednesday, while the other died late on Tuesday north of Baghdad after a combat operation.

The deaths bring the number of US soldiers who have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003 to 4,221.

Although violence has significantly decreased in Iraq, such provinces as Diyala and Baghdad still remain a challenge for security forces in Iraq. (dpa)
