UK petrol prices fall to lowest level in four monthsThe petrol prices in the UK have fallen to its lowest level in four months as supermarkets announce a cut in etrol prices by 2p at petrol stations across the UK.

Several super markets including Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Morrisons have slashed petrol prices in the country as they aim to attract more customers. The fuel will now be sold at the rate of 137.7p for a litre of diesel and
131.7p for unleaded petrol on Asda petrol stations across the UK. Sainsbury's and Tesco have also announced price cuts for motorists in the country.

Motorists were paying an average of 135p for petrol and 141.4p for diesel before the rate cuts were announced by the super markets. The announcement of petrol price cut comes a day after it was reported that food price inflation in the UK rose from 3 to 4 per cent during the month of October.

Andy Peake, the Asda's director of petrol trading, said, "Today's move shows that Asda is once again leading the way in reducing the price at the pump. Unlike other retailers, our price cuts benefit everyone across the country, meaning that no-one filling up at Asda will be forced to play a postcode lottery."
