New Delhi, Aug 25 : Visiting United Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg on Monday promised to facilitate "Ache Din" or "Good Days" for the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government from London while addressing Indian and British business leaders in the national capital.

" Narendra Modi and BJP's campaign slogan was 'Ache din aanne wale hai' - Good times are coming. My message today is that Britain is ready and able to help India build that brighter future," said Clegg.

Clegg met Prime Minister Modi earlier during the day and both discussed ways to increase trade, generate more employment and also dwelled on easing the administrative burden and removing bottlenecks to streamline business between India and United Kingdom

"We want to build on our countries' powerful links to generate more jobs and growth together. I'm joined by leading UK companies from across high-value sectors important to both our economies - education, aerospace, food and drink and retail. Clegg further added.

Clegg also had a meeting with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley .

Clegg also cleared the air with the Indian leadership on the issue of the new visa regime and also reportedly discussed the problems faced by UK companies in India.

Clegg stressed on increased participation of Indian students in British universities.

Clegg said, "We want everyone to know that Indian students are warmly welcome in the UK. We also want more UK students to spend time here."

"That's why we're launching a our new Generation-UK India Programme - to help 25,000 more British students develop professional and personal links in India that will benefit them their whole lives, creating the business partnerships of the future," he added.

Modi and Clegg also discussed WTO trade facilitation agreement, Modi reportedly informed the visiting deputy Prime Minister about the reforms agenda his government is undertaking. (ANI)
