Ashley Alexandra Dupré, the call girl who was involved in the sensational scandal that caused the downfall of former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, has filed a $10 million lawsuit against “Girls Gone Wild” and its founder, Joe Francis. In the lawsuit Dupre has claimed that Francis exploited her image and name on the internet.
Ashley Alexandra Dupré has voluntarily dismissed the $10 million federal lawsuit, according to the court documents filed on Thursday. She said she was 17 years of age when she signed a contract giving permission to appear in the “Girls Gone Wild” videos.
In her lawsuit, Dupre said that she was on a spring break in Miami Beach in 2003 when she was approached by "Girls Gone Wild" producers, who gave her alcoholic drinks and a release form to sign, agreeing to appear in the videos.
Francis has revealed that Dupre was on the "Girls Gone Wild" bus for a week and made seven full-length videos. Soon after Dupre filed the lawsuit, Francis released a video which showed Durpe, covered by a terry cloth towel, giving her name as Amber Arpaio. When questioned whether she was 18 and if footage shot could be used on Girls Gone Wild, she answered yes to both the questions. She also displayed a New Jersey driver's license with the name Amber Arpaio on it, as well as a birth-date that would make her appear to be in her 20s.
After the Spitzer scandal, Joe Francis offered Dupre $1 million to appear in one of his videos and go on a promo tour. But he withdrew the offer when he realized that he already had footage of her.
