Cable Operators In US Join To War Against Child PornographyEighteen cable operators, under the National Cable Telecommunications Association (NCTA), have signed an agreement with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the National Association of Attorney Generals (NAAG), in order to eradicate online child pornography.

Under the agreement, the cable operators will block the list of websites containing child pornography, that are hosted on servers controlled by them. The list of these websites will be provided by NCMEC. They will also provide the list of child porn instances to NCMECs tip line and will revise their policies around other potential sources of child pornography, such as newsgroups.

This agreement will limit the ability of people involved in child pornography to store and exchange images of exploitation of children.

Ealrier in June, New York Attorney General signed a similar agreement with major U.S. Internet Service Providers, under which these ISPs will purge any child porn images stored on their servers and block subscriber access to newsgroups that offered such content.

These agreements surely indicate the growing level of confidence in agencies involed in regulating the content which is harmful for public.
