Can Florida, Michigan Save Clinton?

Can Florida, Michigan Save Clinton?Sen. Hillary Clinton has been persistently claiming that she leads Sen. Barack Obama, if the disqualified Florida and Michigan delegates are counted, but her claim sounds to be incorrect now. Certainly, Florida and Michigan alone can't save Clinton now.

Well, things have changed a lot after Obama’s North Carolina victory. The Illinois senator is in full command in the race. He is leading Clinton in pledged delegate as well as superdelegate count. He currently has 1599 pledged delegates and 294 superdelegates. His current delegate count is 1893. Thus, he is just 132 delegates away from Democratic nomination.

Whereas, Clinton is lagging lot behind; she has 1446 pledged delegates and 274 superdelegates. She still needs 305 delegates more to win the Democratic Party’s nomination. Clinton’s current delegate count is 1720. What, if the disqualified Florida and Michigan delegates are counted?

Clinton had won 105 delegates in Florida and 73 delegates in Michigan. If these delegates are counted, her total will surge to 1898. She will still be lacking 127 delegates. On the other hand, Obama, who had won 67 delegates in Florida, will have his total surged to 1960; he will need just 65 delegates more. So, Michigan and Florida alone can't save Clinton now.

There are 189 pledged delegates left to be decided, and there are 227 undecided superdelegates i.e. total 416 delegates are left. Out of 416, Clinton needs to win 305, if she’s to win nomination without Florida and Michigan delegates, which appears to be impossible now.
