Clinton Leads Obama In Indiana

Hillary Clinton, facing severe pressure to quit her presidential pursuit, has urged the Democrats to "chill out" and let the voters decide her fate in the upcoming primaries. Definitely, she hopes to make two consecutive wins i.e. in Pennsylvania (April) and Indian (May). 

Indiana primary is scheduled on 6 May 2008. There are total 84 delegates in Indiana at stake. It’s the recent polls that have enkindled optimistic hope in Clintons. Several agencies are operating to assess the current mood of voters in the state. Here’s what the recent Indiana polls say.

Howey Gauge Poll, conducted in Indiana on 16-17 Feb, showed that Obama was leading Clinton with 40% to 25% popular vote. With MoE = 4.3%, the poll showed Obama having 15% points lead over Clintion. The poll indicated Obama’s huge win over Clinton.

By the end of March, the public opinion tilted towards Clinton’s favor. That’s what Survey USA Indiana poll conducted on 29-31 March showed. The poll showed Clinton leading with 52% popular vote, while Obama’s share shrunk to 43%. With MoE = 4.3%, the poll showed that Clinton was enjoying 9% points lead over Obama. The poll apparently signaled Clinton’s win.

Research 2000 for South Bend Tribune WSBT TV WISH TV WANE TV conducted a statewide poll in Indiana from 31 March to 2 April. The recent poll found that 49% voters supported Clinton while 46% went for Obama. With MoE = 4.9%, the poll showed that Clinton was enjoying 3% points lead over Obama. The poll signaled a close win for Clinton.
