Clinton Shows Her ‘Never-Say-Die Spirit’

Bill Clinton, Hillary ClintonSen. Hillary Clinton brushed off the growing pressure of quitting the race, comparing herself to fictional Philadelphia fighter Rocky Balboa on Tuesday. Saying that Clinton wanted to send message to Sen. Barack Obama and her other opponents that she has famous underdog's never-say-die spirit and she’s not going to cut short her presidential bid.

Addressing a meeting of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO on Tuesday, Clinton said, "Let me tell you something, when it comes to finishing a fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never quit. I never give up. And neither do the American people."

Clintons have been facing severe pressure in recent days to quit the nomination quest in the face of rival Barack Obama's lead among delegates, but they have been continuously ruling out any possibility of quitting. Sen. Clinton’s husband and former President Bill Clinton has urged the Democrats to "chill out" and let the voters decide. Pennsylvania's primary is April 22.

On the issue of Clinton’s quitting the race, Obama said he won't harp on “Clinton-Should-Quit”. "Senator Clinton should stay in the race as long as she wants," Obama said.
