Colorado Democratic Party Chair & Superdelegate Pat Waak Endorses Obama

Sen. Barack Obama,Pat Waak, Colorado Democratic Party Chair & Superdelegate Endorses Obama who is on the verge of winning the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, got another boost to his campaign, when Pat Waak, Colorado Democratic Party Chair and superdelegate announced her support for the Illinoise senator on Wednesday morning.

Waak announced her endorsement on the same day when Obama is in Colorado for a campaign event. In her endorsement statement, Waak said, "I have maintained my neutrality throughout Colorado's selection process but feel compelled today to announce my support for several important reasons.”

"As state party chair, I will continue to respect all the voters who have made different choices and I will ensure everyone is treated fairly. However, I believe the time has come to step forward and endorse Sen. Obama for president of the United States," she said.

Waak said, "First, as Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, I am influenced by the voters of Colorado….Second, I believe that Sen. Obama and his message of change is what Colorado wants….Finally, I believe that our country needs the type of visionary, uplifting leadership that Senator Obama has”
