Washington, Aug 19 : Republican presidential candidate and Texas Governor Rick Perry has said that the theory of evolution has `some gaps in it.'

Addressing people during a campaign trail in New Hampshire, told a little boy that creationism is taught alongside evolution in Texas schools because Darwin''s theory `has gaps'.

"Here your mom was asking about evolution, and you know it''s a theory that''s out there, and it''s got some gap in it," the Telegraph quoted Perry, as saying.

"In Texas we teach both creationism and evolution in our public schools," Perry said.

"Because I figure you''re smart enough to figure out which one is right," he added. (ANI)
