Don Conelius Arrested On Charges Of Domestic Violence

The former host of the television show "Soul Train", Don Cornelius, was arrested on Friday Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic violence.
The 72-year-old producer was taken to Van Nuys jail, late on Friday, where he was booked for investigation of felony domestic violence after someone reported a domestic incident.
He was released on $50,000 bail and has been ordered to appear in court on November 14.
Cornelius is famous for having created and produced “Soul Train” in 1970 in which he showcased black music and culture, introducing such legendary artists as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Barry White.
The series became so popular that it gave birth to a franchise which includes Soul Train Music Awards, the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards and the Soul Train Christmas Starfest.
Cornelius relinquished the role of the host of "Soul Train" in 1993.
