Hillary Clinton won't step down; adds $6.4 million to her campaign

Senator Hillary Clinton made additional $6.4 million loans in three installments to her campaign during the recent weeks. Hillary had earlier offered $5 million help to her campaign in January. This brings the total amount of money to $11.4 million, which she has offered to her campaign so far. There have been reports about financial crisis faced by Hillary Clinton’s campaign. After winning in Pennsylvania on April 22, Hillary Clinton campaign managed to raise $10 million within few hours.

Senator Clinton gave $5 million on April 11, 2008. Another million was offered on May 1 followed by 0.4 million on May 5, 2008.

Hillary Clinton won't step down; adds $6.4 million to her campaignCampaign strategist Howard Wolfson said, “Sen. Clinton gave the campaign a $5 million loan on April 11 a $1 million loan on May 1 and $400,000 loan on May 5. She is willing to do so going forward to make sure our message gets out.”

Senator Clinton has vowed to continue with her campaign for Democratic Presidential candidate. Barack Obama is in strong position after winning in North Carolina with a big difference of 56-42 percent. Hillary won Indiana primary by a small margin of two points.

George McGovern urged Hillary Clinton to step down from the Presidential race. McGovern supported Barack Obama and said that it is important for Democrats to get united now.

During a conference in West Virginia, Clinton said, “I am staying in this race until there is a nominee.”
