Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of pop star Britney Spears is ecstatic at her new motherhood. Seventeen-year-old, Jamie gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge on June 19 in Southwestern Mississippi, deliberately avoiding the limelight in Hollywood.  

In an interview, Jamie said, "I love taking care of her. It is so much fun. I just want to hug her and kiss her, and I'm happy all the time."

Jamie is raising her baby with fiance Casey Aldridge in Mississippi and she feels that being home has allowed her to give more attention to her baby. "Around here everyone has the same focus. The focus is family and that's a good way to live," she said.

Jamie, the star of Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101”, rubbished claims of having delivered her baby by C-section and though her labor was induced she gave birth naturally without any complications. She said, "I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed.”

"The first time I saw her, it was surreal. You can't even imagine that moment. She just looked at me, and she really didn't cry at first. I was scared, and then she started screaming. It is the best feeling in the world," said Jamie. Aldridge's parents and sisters, as well as all of Jamie Lynn's family, including sister Britney, who flew out from Los Angeles for the birth, were present at the hospital for the birth.

"It was such a big day," Jamie Lynn told. "And being able to have your sister there, your whole family there, meant a lot. Everybody flew in to celebrate."

Jamie announced she was pregnant at age 16, just after the final season of “Zoey 101” was wrapped up, leading to suspicion that her pregnancy might have glamorized and led to the ‘pregnancy pact’ amongst the Massachusetts schoolgirls.
