Jamie Lynn Spears has rebuffed the reports that she ordered a gift for Bristol Palin, the pregnant 17-year-old daughter of John McCain’s vice presidential pick, Sarah Palin.
“I just got off the phone with Lynne. I can tell you that she hasn't sent her any gifts, but that she does support Sarah and, of course, can empathize with their situation,” Curt Handling, Spears's publicist at the Thomas Nelson publishing company, said.
On Wednesday, an intimate source to the Beverly Hills baby store, Petit Tresor, revealed that Lynne Spears, mother of Jamie Lynn, called the store and prearranged a gift for Bristol Palin on behalf of her daughter Jamie Lynn.
“It was ordered by phone, and they asked what could be done for under $100. They spent $60 on pink burp cloths,” the source said.
According to reports, Spears’ gift included a card with the package: “Dear Bristol, Hang in there! XXOO, Jamie Lynn Spears.”
Britney Spears' younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, who is also the former star of the TV show "Zoey 101," gave birth to her daughter, Maddie Briann, in June and is set to get married to Casey Aldridge, the father of her daughter, in June.
On Monday, Sarah Palin announced that Bristol, her unmarried daughter, is five-months pregnant and is engaged to marry the 18-year-old father of her child, Levi Johnston.
