Oscar winning actress, Jennifer Hudson is engaged to boyfriend David Otunga a.k.a “Punk”. Her boyfriend for less than a year, Punk proposed to her on her 27th birthday and presented her a Neil Lane diamond ring and she accepted.

Representative of the American Idol alumna confirmed that she is engaged saying, "I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in L.A."

Hudson earlier had a relationship with James Payton that broke up in December 2007. Otunga who is known also as "Punk" in reality show "I Love New York 2" is from Chicago like Hudson. Set to release her self titled solo debut album on September 30, Hudson will next be seen with Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys and Dakota Fanning in “The Secret Life of Bees” which opens in theatres on October 17.
