Jessica Simpson Enters The Beer Business

Jessica Simpson Enters The Beer BusinessThe singer-actress, Jessica Simpson, has been roped in as the new face of Stampede Light Plus beer, a low-carb, low-calorie brew from the Dallas-based Stampede Brewing Company. Actually she is suspected to be more than just the new face of the brand. The details of the partnership have been kept under wraps, but the singer now holds a 15 percent stake in the vitamin-enhanced beer.

“(Jessica’s) the face of the brand now,” Lawrence Schwartz, Stampede’s president and chief executive, told the paper

“Jessica found out about Stampede after trying it in Dallas and lik[ed] it so much that she met with the founder and became an owner,” her rep explained to the Daily News on Wednesday.

“As an entrepreneur, I am always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people,” Jessica said of the deal.  “Yes, I work out and take care of myself, but I also like a cold beer once in a while.”

The singer, ostensibly, liked the beer because it was “consistent with her healthy lifestyle and values,” her publicist said. “She likes to invest in healthy products.”
