Sen. John Edwards, the former Democratic presidential candidate, was reportedly spotted with his long-rumored mistress Rielle Hunter and their supposed love child at a Los Angeles hotel Monday.

Edwards was in town for a press event with Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on how to combat homelessness. Hunter had apparently driven to Los Angeles from Santa Barbara with a male friend to meet with Edwards. Edwards reportedly arrived on Monday evening and stayed through until the wee hours of the morning, reported a tabloid.

After months of investigation by the Enquirer, it was revealed that Hunter and Edwards had secretly planned to meet after the mayor’s event so that Edwards could spend time with Hunter and their love child. Earlier this year when an article in the Enquirer claimed that Edwards had fathered a child with Hunter, it was promptly and fervently denied by both of them.

According to the Enquirer, Edwards was confronted at the Beverly Hilton on Monday and was barraged with questions from Enquirer reporters. “After we confronted him about seeing Rielle, Edwards looked like a deer caught in headlights,” said Enquirer Senior Reporter Alexander Hitchen.
