Of KY’s total 60 delegates, 51 are pledged delegates and 9 are superdelegates. Of the 51 pledged delegates tied to the primary result, 34 are allocated as district delegates according to the vote in Ketucky's 6 congressional districts, and 17 are allocated according to the state-wide vote.

Out of 9 superdelegates of Kentucky, 2 superdelegates had pledged support for Sen. Barack Obama, and 3 for Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Only the registered Democrats can vote in the Kentucky primary. Only the voters who had register as Democrats 28 days prior to the primary are allowed to participate in the KY primary.

According to most of the recent Kentucky Polls, Clinton is having a big lead over Obama; she is leading Obama by some 27% - 32% points among the Kentucky democratic voters.
