Sen. Barack Obama’s lead over Sen. John McCain, in the presidential race, appears to be on surge again. In the latest Obama vs McCain opinion polls, Obama leads McCain nationally by 6 % points.

CBS News’ Obama vs McCain Opinion Poll, conducted from August 29 to August 31, showed Obama leading McCain by 8 % points — 48 % to 40 % among the nationwide registered voters.
Gallup Daily Tracking McCain vs Obama Poll, conducted from August 30 - September 1, showed Obama leading McCain by 6 % points — 49 % to 43 % among the nationwide registered voters.
Rasmussen Reports Tracking Obama vs McCain Opinion Poll, conducted on September 2, showed Obama leading McCain by 6 % points — 51 % to 45 % among the nationwide registered voters. According to the poll, Obama has currently a 61.4 % chance of winning the presidential election in November. According to the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator, Obama currently leads in states with 193 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 183 votes; when leaners are included, Obama stands with 264 and McCain with 247.
