Macedonia: Protesters storm parliament, attack MPs

Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], Apr. 28 : A large number of demonstrators entered the Macedonian parliament, breaking the police cordon and assaulted the MPs, in protest against the election of a new speaker.

As per the Guardian, score of protestor, wearing masks, stormed into the parliament on Thursday, after the opposition Social Democrat party and ethnic Albanian allies voted for a new speaker.

Television footage showed opposition leader Zoran Zaev with blood trickling from one side of his forehead.

The county has been without a government since December last year, after former prime minister Nikola Gruevski's conservative party won elections, but missed the opportunity to win majority of seats to form a government. (ANI)
