Michelle Obama back to campaigning mode to support husband ahead of 2012 presidential polls

Michelle Obama back to campaigning mode to support husband ahead of 2012 presidential polls Washington, Oct 18 : US First Lady Michelle Obama is reportedly back to her role of campaigning for her husband ahead of the 2012 presidential elections, though reports suggest that she is avoiding delivering “a hard hit speech on the opponent” of the Democratic Party.

Reports, however, suggest that her campaign has not gathered much attention, and that her role is not yet fully defined.

For now, her job is to talk up President Barack Obama — addressing doubts about his leadership by conveying his commitment to country and family, Politico reports.

Some within the party believe that part of the challenge for Team Obama in 2012 is how best to deploy her as a political asset without tarnishing her popularity.

“I, frankly, don’t see them sending the first lady out to deliver a hard hit on their opponent,” Michael Feldman, a Democratic strategist and managing director of The Glover Park Group, said.

Instead, “with the country’s wrong-track numbers in the 70s, there is a lot that people are anxious about, and what they see in the Obamas is a family they can relate to,” she added.

Michele Obama was a strong campaigner during the 2008 polls, and had always acted as a driving force while supporting him in any difficult situation. (ANI)
