According to information from the Comedy Central channel on Monday, Michelle Obama, the wife of Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, is scheduled to make her first appearance on the satirical news program “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.”
Ms. Obama’s visit to the Daily show is slated 11 p. m. Wednesday, October 8. Incidentally, that is the night after her husband, Barack Obama engages his Republican rival John McCain in the second presidential debate, which will be nationally televised.
Of late, the Daily Show is a part of Comedy Central’s Indecision 2008. Obama himself has been a guest on the show three times, his most recent appearance being on April 21, the eve of the Pennsylvania primary.
In recent months, Michelle Obama has granted few interviews. However, she did sit down with Jill Biden, the wife of Obama’s running mate Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., for a joint interview with “Access Hollywood” last month.
On the other hand, Cindy McCain, the wife of Senator John McCain, has not yet made any appearance on either “The Daily Show” or its late-night companion “The Colbert Report,” according to a Comedy Central spokesman.
