Two weeks ago John Edwards was caught by The National Enquirer at the Beverly Hills visiting his mistress, Rielle Hunter, and the illegitimate child they had together. After being caught on the wrong foot by Enquirer reporters, and seeing the flash of photographers' cameras, Edwards took refuge in men's bathroom, where he hid until security escorted him out of the building.

On being caught red handed Edwards understandably panicked. His wife has been battling breast cancer, and he and Hunter publicly denied rumors of their affair and child.

On Wednesday, The National Enquirer released what is most likely to become an infamous photo of John Edwards supposed “love child”. In the photograph he is mollycoddling, nurturing the new born in the photos with a headline that reads “The Photos Everybody Has Been Waiting For”.

Even after these events Edwards continues to deny having an affair with Hunter or fathering her child.
