New Hampshire women offer mixed reactions about Sarah Palin

The women voters in New Hampshire are both full of praise and criticism for the Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. In fact, Palin is under intense scrutiny for her experience, or lack of it; preparedness; and the interviews aired nationally.
Many women voters are practically not swayed by Palin’s persona, especially those who support Barack Obama for President. All they like about Palin is the fact that there is a woman on the vice presidential ticket. Women who opine thus have the Republican State Representative, Concord Liz Hager supporting them, when she says: Palin “can be a regular mom for herself, but I want her to stay as a regular mom and not as Vice President.”
Another woman voter who intends voting for Barack Obama, Emily Phelps says: “when John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, I was totally insulted, because I thought that he thought we were stupid.”
However, there is support for Palin in the form of ‘Team Sarah’, a new national group, with a chapter in New Hampshire too. The group aims at advancing and defending the candidacy of Palin. The members of the group collectively opine that they are ‘energized’ by Sarah Palin primarily because they feel she would bring their perspective to Washington in a way that no other candidate, and no woman, has ever before.
Representing a unanimous opinion in favor of Palin, the organizer of the group, Shannon McGinley says, “It’s not because she’s a woman that we like her, it’s what she embodies that we like her.”
