Sen. Barack Obama is currently leading Sen. John McCain in the battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan – that’s what the recent Obama McCain pre-election polls conducted in these three states say.

Ohio is a crucial swing state with 20 Electoral College votes. Quinnipiac University’s Obama McCain OH poll, conducted from August 17 to August 24, showed Obama having slim lead over McCain. The poll showed Obama leading McCain by 1% point — 44% to 43% among the registered voters of Ohio.

Pennsylvania is another important battleground states. It has 21 Electoral College votes. Quinnipiac University’s Obama McCain PA poll, conducted from August 17 to August 24, showed Obama leading McCain by 7% point — 49% to 42% among the registered voters of Pennsylvania.

Michigan has 17 Electoral College votes. EPIC-MRA/Detroit News conducted Obama McCain MI Poll from Aug 18 to Aug 21. The poll showed Obama leading McCain by 2 % points — 43 % to 41 % among the registered voters of Michigan.
