New Study: Chemical Found In Plastic Water Bottles & Baby Bottles Is Pernicious

Baby BottleYour children are unsafe, if you are using plastic water bottles or baby bottles for them, said a new study yesterday. According to the study, chemical found in a popular plastic used for water bottles, including baby bottles, could cause a problem for your children’s future.

The 45 page study conducted by the national toxicology program articulated that the chemical found in a popular plastic is called Bisphenol A (BPA). It is a compound in hard, clear polycarbonate plastics.  It is  most commonly found  in water bottles, baby bottles, and the lining of many food, drink and baby formula cans. The chemical could be linked to health problems like prostate cancer, breast cancer, and the early on-set of puberty.

The U.S. government's National Toxicology Program yesterday agreed with a scientific panel that recently expressed concern about physiological changes that occur in people when they ingest BPA that has leached from plastics into their food. The findings of the study could set the stage for banning it from plastic baby bottles, water bottles, and food containers. Meanwhile, the Canadian government was also considering declaring the chemical toxic.
