Nicolas Cage cleans up at US box office: Knowing

Los Angeles - Nicolas Cage cleaned up at the box office over the weekend with the debut of his science fiction spectacle Knowing, where he plays an astrophysicist who wants to save the world from a disastrous end.
Knowing took in 25 million dollars, out-placing two other new arrivals, according to Box Office Mojo on Sunday.
I Love You Man, starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel of Forgetting Sarah Marshall fame, took in 18 million dollars.
The Julia Roberts-Clive Owen team brought in 14.4 million dollars with Duplicity, the story of industrial espionage between one-time lovers.
Also among the top ten were Race to Witch Mountain, with 13 million dollars; Watchmen, with 6.7 million dollars; The Last House on the Left, with 5.9 million dollars; Taken, with 4.1 million dollars; Oscar Best Picture winner Slumdog Millionaire, with 2.7 million dollars; Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail, with 2.5 million dollars; and Coraline, with 2.1 million dollars.
