Obama Ad Highlights Tax Cuts

Obama Ad Highlights Tax CutsBarack Obama released a new ad today aimed directly at families concerned about their finances. The title of the ad is “Three Times” and its duration is 30 seconds. The ad will be aired in Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Virginia.

The script of the ad goes like this-

Announcer: “Can we really afford more of the same? John McCain's tax plan: For big corporations — $200 billion in new tax breaks. Oil companies — $4 billion. Companies shipping jobs overseas — keep their tax giveaways while 100 million Americans get no tax relief at all. For the change we need, Barack Obama. A plan that cuts taxes for middle-class families three times as much as John McCain would. Barack Obama. President.”

Obama: “I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.”

Barack Obama is trying to create a positive image of himself during national broadcasts of the Olympics. At the same time he’s battering McCain with economy-centered ads in states that could determine the outcome of election in November. The ad is an attempt to establish Obama as a voice for working people.

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds issued this response to the ad: “America’s business taxes are the second highest in the world, and that is driving American jobs overseas. So while American families are hurt and jobs are becoming scarce, Barack Obama is pushing for billions in higher taxes – it’s a recipe for economic disaster.”
