Obama Raised $31.3 Million, While Clinton Raised Over $22 million In April

Sen. Hillary Clinton’s Kentucky victory, Obama campaign announced Tuesday night that Sen. Barck Obama raised $31.3 million in April in primary funds, as well as an additional $600,000 for the general election.
Obama’s fundraising of $31.3 million in April was quite down from his over $40 million in March and $55 million in February, but Obama campaign claimed that it gained more than 200,000 new donors in April, and 94 percent of their of contributions were under $200.
Obama campaign stated that by the end of April 1.475 million donors had given the campaign 2,929,000 million separate donations, with an average value of $91. The campaign also claimed that it had $37.3 million remaining cash on hand, plus $9.2 million already banked for the general election.
Reacting to the news, Clinton campaign reported that Clinton raised more than $22 million in the month of April. The Clinton campaign stated, "Included in the $22 million total ... is $10 million raised by the campaign in the 48 hours after Hillary's significant Pennsylvania victory. This total is in addition to a loan to the campaign of $5 million."
