The selection of jury has begun in Britney Spears’ trial, on a driving-without-a-license charge, at the San Fernando Valley courtroom. The first slate of potential jurors, identified only by numbers, who arrived on Wednesday morning expressed doubts about the 26-year-old pop star’s innocence.
One of the jurors, an elderly woman who works as a substitute teacher, said: “I’m sure that she’s guilty. From what I see in the media, I cannot be fair, I have bias.”
MTV To Release Documentary On Britney Spears

A 90-minute documentary film on the life of Britney Spears is being made by MTV, with spotlight on her return to pop-music. The exclusive documentary – “Britney: For the Record” - will be aired on November 30 at 10 p.m., two days before her new album ‘Circus’ is released on December 2 via Jive.
The film presents Britney’s personal stories along with her ‘comeback journey.’ It documents a three-month period of Spears’ life earlier this year, including sessions for album ‘Circus’, and preparations for her appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards.
Britney Spears to go to trial in driving case

According to J. Michael Flanagan, the lawyer of Britney Spears, the pop singer; trial set for next week is prepared to go to trial in her misdemeanor driving-without-license case, after rejecting a plea offer of a year’s probation and a $150 fine. Flanagan said that the plea deal was too harsh, suggesting that Spears was receiving tougher treatment than non-celebrity defendants.
Reacting to this, city attorney’s office spokesman said: “We’re proceeding with this case like we would any other.”
Britney’s Plans First International Tour Since 2004

Britney Spear is filming as a waitress in her new video “Womanizer”. The pop star was wearing a black wig and a red lipstick during the shoot. She plays a vampy waitress/erotic dancer and makes out with a hot boy toy on a table. This is quite similar to her other videos, pre-Blackout.
The shooting took place at Elevate Lounge, a club located within Takami Sushi & Robata restaurant on the 21st floor of an office building in downtown L.A. Dancers at the shoot were dressed in waiter uniforms - white dress shirts, skinny ties, and black pants or leggings.
Britney’s “Womanizer” Leaked Online

Britney Spears fans had a fantastic day as “Womanizer” was leaked on the internet. The video made its presence felt on Nashville radio station 107.5 The River’s website Friday, September 19th.
A brief clip was recorded when a radio rep from The River previewed it over the phone. The single was set to be released September 22nd. Jive Records' Zomba Label Group is delaying the release for at least another week. This means that radio stations won't be playing it until Sept. 29 at the earliest.
Spears Donates Autographed Portrait For Online Charity Auction

In order to raise money for Promises Foundation, an L.A. based charity providing behavioural health services to low income women and children, the Spears family has donated an autographed portrait of the singer, which comes complete with a letter of authenticity from Britney’s father. To be auctioned on eBay with a starting bid of $10,000,
The charity organization reported it was the Spears family, who came up with the idea of an auction for charity, donating the painting as part of their generosity.

Britney Spears will celebrate her 27th birthday on December 2 with the release of her new album "Circus".
Coming close on the heels after Spears received awards for video of the year, best female video and best pop video for "Piece of Me" – at MTV's Video Music Awards on Sept. 7, Circus follows up her well-received 2007 album Blackout.
The Outsyders have produced the first single from the album, "Womanizer," which is scheduled to start airplay Sept. 22.

Britney Spears and Chris Brown were among the first to pick up prizes at the MTV Video Awards, in Los Angeles. Spears, who opened the show, bagged two awards for her video 'Piece Of Me', including Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
She was greeted with a standing ovation from the crowd even before she uttered a word. She returned the favor by keeping her thank-yous concise and simple on both the occasions.
"Thank you so much," she said flatly. "Thank you for all the love."
Spears Will Open This Year’s MTV Video Music Awards On Sunday

It’s official that pop star, this year’s MTV Video Music Awards will open this year’s MTV Video Music Awards; the diva will be staring the ceremony, a year after a botched comeback performance at the same award ceremony.
The MTV Website states that Spears will open the 2008 MTV VMA on Sunday, September 7 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles, but she will not perform. MTV has not clearly announced what Spears will do to open the show.

Justin Timberlake has denied reports of teaming up with former girlfriend Britney Spears to collaborate on a song.
According to PageSix, Spears and Timberlake were supposed to work together on a duet for Britney’s latest album “Blackout”, but the distressed pop star reportedly did not show up for a scheduled recording session at Timbaland’s Virginia Beach studio last August.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s tussle over custody ended on Friday when custody settlement was signed by a judge, finally ending their almost two year battle.
According to the settlement reached last week, Federline was allowed to retain the sole custody of Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden, 1 ½.Spears, who is currently allowed two visits and one overnight per week, will get an added sleepover by year's end, except for any setbacks.

contented after the latest court hearing in her children custody case with her ex-husband Kevin Federline Tuesday, when a Los Angeles judge allowed the singer to spend more time with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
In the morning's court session, attended by both Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, Los Angeles judge awarded the pop-star overnight visits with her two boys – two-year-old Sean Preston and 21-month-old Jayden James; Kevin Federline still retains primary custody of the boys.
