New York, May 22 : Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, infamous for his involvement in a high-profile prostitution ring, may not be able to return to office as a statewide candidate, as he has fallen out of favour with New Yorkers. At least two-thirds of them say they don't want him back in office.

A Marist poll announced this conclusion..

Following the scandal, Spitzer received intense media coverage and had even expressed a desire to start a TV career, though he says that he misses public office. However, he insists he has no such aspiration in the near future.
