Washington, Feb 11 : Michelle Obama judged a `Top Chef' cooking competition in Dallas on Friday as part of her three-day national tour to celebrate the second anniversary of her Let's Move campaign.
Obama joined White House chef Sam Kass and `Top Chef' host Tom Colicchio as judges in a televised competition that paired child sous-chefs with professional chef - all former contestants on the Bravo television show. Fabio Viviani, Jennifer Carroll and Spike Mendelsohn were the celebrity chef contestants.
Before the event started, Obama asked the kids `Are you fired enough?'

Washington, Feb 1 : Michelle Obama made an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" where she talked about subjects varying from President Obama's re-election to the importance of healthy eating.
The first lady said that she and her husband could only brace for the intensity of his campaign by taking one day at a time.
"You take each day as it comes. I think Barack and I, our motto is, you know, we try to do the best job that we can do every single day, and the hope is that that will speak for itself," Politico quoted her as saying.

Washington, Jan 31 : Michelle Obama has said that her family is planning to have a low-key Super Bowl this Sunday.
She made the revelation to celebrity chef Rachael Ray in an interview airing Wednesday.
“We’ll probably watch it at home. It’ll probably be a quiet Super Bowl this year,” Politico quoted her as saying.
The first lady also revealed her favourite game-time snacks
“You know nachos are always good, [if] it’s fresh tomato sauce and you get it on sort of a good quality tortilla,” she said.

Washington, Jan 14 : Michelle Obama delighted elementary and middle school children at the Hayfield Secondary School when she performed a `random dance' along with cast members of the Nickelodeon show `iCarly'.
She joined Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy during an appearance tied to her upcoming cameo in the show, where she thanks military families for their sacrifices.
A staple of `iCarly' is a segment of `random dancing', which Obama performed both in the episode that premieres Monday and on stage Friday.

Washington, Jan. 11 : A new book on President Barack Obama and U. S. First Lady Michelle Obama reveals that part of the post-presidency plan for both Obamas is to write memoirs to boost their legacies and their bank accounts.
According to The Politico, President Obama's challenge will be to balance the reflective tone of his first two memoirs, "Dreams from My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope," with former presidents' propensity to paint largely positive portraits of their administrations.

Washington, Dec 23 : Michelle Obama wishes to be her family’s Portuguese water dog, Bo, in her next life.
When asked what person or thing she would want to come back as when she dies in an interview on ABC News, the first lady named Bo.
“He’s got a great life,” the CBS News quoted her as saying.
President Barack Obama took a pass on the question, one in a series the first couple faced for an upcoming holiday TV special.
Asked when he tells lies, the president said only in personal interactions with family members, such as when commenting on how someone looks in a particular dress.

Washington, Dec 17 : Michelle Obama got a surprise invitation when a soldier asked her to be his date at the Marine Corps Ball in the coming year.
Lance Cpl. Aaron Leeks, 20, said he asked Obama to accompany him because he’s a fan and admires her work to support the military.
When the first lady was at a charity event for the US Marine Corps, Leeks drew her attention and asked the question.
“She said she’d love to go,” Fox News quoted Leeks as saying.
“Actually, she said I’d need to speak to her husband, too, but she said she’d love to,” he said.

Washington, Dec 13 : Michelle Obama has succeeded in her attempt to break the world record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period.
She announced in an email that her October bid succeeded in creating a new record with 300,265 people doing jumping jacks, Politico reported.
On October 11, she had led 464 school students to jump continuously for one minute at the lawns in the White House.
Between 3 pm that day and 3 pm on October 12, jumpers all over the world took part and broke the old record of 20,425 people.

Washington, Nov 12 : A shooting incident involving a police chase near the White House has closed streets in the US capital of Washington, according to media reports.
Shots were reportedly fired Friday night between the White House and the Washington Monument, setting off a flurry of law enforcement activity, CNN reported citing a US Park Police spokesman.
The incident was reported shortly after 9 p. m., said Sergeant David Schlosser, spokesman for the Park Police. Responding officers found an abandoned vehicle in the vicinity of the reported incident and were searching it "trying to figure out what happened".

The first lady is coming up with her maiden book named `American Grown: How the White House Kitchen Garden Inspires Families, Schools and Communities'.
According to iVillage, the Obama's changed the way they eat a few years ago when their pediatrician became concerned with their daughters' Body Mass Index (BMI), and the book will detail how they got rid of sweets, processed foods and juice boxes.

The US First Lady posted her first tweet on her Twitter account, complete with a hashtag, a URL and her initials, and the White House commemorated the occasion with a blog post and a YouTube video, the New York Post reported.

After giving the First lady’s introduction at the Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia, the 44th president of the United States went a little off-script as he gave compliments to his wife.
“I hate following Michelle. She’s so good,” CBS News quoted him as saying.
“See for you men out there who are not yet married, let me explain. The whole goal is to marry up--to try to improve your gene pool,” he added.

Washington, Oct 18 : US First Lady Michelle Obama is reportedly back to her role of campaigning for her husband ahead of the 2012 presidential elections, though reports suggest that she is avoiding delivering “a hard hit speech on the opponent” of the Democratic Party.
Reports, however, suggest that her campaign has not gathered much attention, and that her role is not yet fully defined.
For now, her job is to talk up President Barack Obama — addressing doubts about his leadership by conveying his commitment to country and family, Politico reports.
