Tiger Woods Llin NordegrenLos Angeles, Aug 26 : Disgraced golfer Tiger Woods has praised ex-wife Elin Nordegren as a "supportive" and "wonderful mother" after she opened up about her ordeal following his infidelity claims in her recent interview.

Nordegren went into hiding when Woods' private life was exposed, but opened up after their divorce was finalised Tuesday. She said she felt "embarrassed" that she "never suspected" her husband was cheating on her.

Woods has backed Nordegren after her comments and insists his focus is on co-parenting their two children - Sam, 3, and
19-month-old Charlie, reports aceshowbiz. com.

According to RadarOnline, the pair will share joint custody of daughter Sam, 2, and son, Charlie, 14 months.

"They have not been getting along as a married couple but there has been no conflict over the children. They both want what''s best for the kids." the New York Daily News quoted a source, as saying.

The golfer's extra-marital affairs have wrecked his marriage with the Swedish model, but "the kids are close to both of them and neither Tiger nor Elin wants a battle."

Woods, 34, told the joke in 1997 in front of a GQ reporter, and even though he took flak for it then, he was still using it in 2006 when he hit on exotic dancer Cori Rist.

“What’s this?” the New York Post quoted him as having asked while rubbing the tips of his shoes together.

“A black guy taking off his condom,” he would reply.

Woods, 34, had been following the teachings of the faith, which includes a code to live by, not harming others or engaging in sexual misconduct, before he drifted away.

Washington, Jan 14 : General Motors has become the latest company to end its endorsement contract with defamed golfer Tiger Woods.

GM has joined the ranks of Gillette, ATnT, Gatorade, Accenture and Tag Heuer, all of which have dropped Woods.

In addition, Woods— whose string of affairs came into limelight after he backed his Cadillac Escalade into a tree— may no longer drive GM vehicles for free, reports People magazine.

GM''s official endorsement contract actually ended in 2008, but the driving deal had been extended until Dec. 31, 2009, Buick spokeswoman Dayna Hart told USA Today.

The end date was set before the Thanksgiving crash and Woods'' subsequent "indefinite departure" from golf, which he announced on his Web site last month.
