Over 1.7 million USDs were paid by the U.S. government to the companies owned by leaders of Warren Jeffs' Mormon fundamentalist polygamist sect that were in defense contracts with the Pentagon authorities over the last decade. The money earned through business dealings with the U.S. government was used to build Jeffs' compounds across the country, including the one recently raided in Eldorado, Texas. Officials have removed 401 people from the Polygamist Ranch, set up by jailed polygamist leader Warren Jeffs, in a semi-arid area 120 miles northwest of San Antonio, a city of south central Texas, say the late Monday reports. Scores of women have also reportedly been removed from or left the compound owned by the secretive sect.

On Sunday, Texas Child Protective Services and law enforcement officials removed 219 people from a ranch belonging to a breakaway Mormon sect linked to jailed polygamist leader Warren Jeffs, but they were able to find the young woman, on whose complaints the raids were conducted.

Acting on the report of accusation of sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl, the Texas enforcement officers and child welfare investigators forayed into the West Texas Ranch founded by the convicted polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs and took 52 children under custody on Friday.
