Polls: Clinton Leads In West Virginia

hillary clintonSen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has always been favorite presidential candidate in West Virginia. She was leading in the Mountain State last year and she is still leading in the state. Well, that’s what the West Virginia polls assert.

Just check out the American Research Group’s West Virginia poll conducted in April last year. The poll showed that Clinton was leading Obama in West Virginia with 37% to 22% democratic vote. According to the poll, she was leading Obama by 15 % point in popular vote. That means she would have had huge win over Obama in April last year.

Mark Blankenship Enterprises’s West Virginia poll conducted from 18-21 February, 2008 showed Clinton leading Obama with 43% to 22% democratic vote. With Margin of Error = 4.8%, the poll gave Clinton 21 % point lead over Obama. That means, Clinton would have won West Virginia primary sweepingly, if it had been in Feb.

Rasmussen Reports’ West Virginia poll conducted on 13 March, 2008, showed Clinton leading Obama with 55% to 27% democratic vote. With Margin of Error = 3.7%, the poll gave Clinton 28 % point lead over Obama. That means, Clinton would have won West Virginia primary sweepingly, if it had been in March.

What’s interesting in the West Virginia polls is Clinton’s margin of victory over her rival Sen. Barack Obama is huge, and it’s continuously increased. West Virginia primary is on 13 May. Total 39 delegates are at stake in West Virginia.
