Illinois is Obama’s home state. IL has 21 Electoral College Votes. Rasmussen Reports' Obama vs McCain IL Opinion Poll, conducted on August 12, showed Obama leading McCain by 15% points — 55% to 40% among the registered voters of Illinois. According to the poll, Obama currently has a 98.0  % chance of winning Illinois’ 21 Electoral College votes this fall.

Iowa appears to the safe state for Democrats. IA has 7 Electoral College Votes. Rasmussen Reports' Obama vs McCain IA Opinion Poll, conducted on August 7, showed Obama leading McCain by 5% points — 49% to 44% among the registered voters of Iowa. According to the poll, Obama currently has a 75.0  % chance of winning Iowa’s seven Electoral College votes in November. Hawkeye Poll, conducted in Iowa, on August 13, showed Obama leading McCain by 6.4% points — 49.5% to 43.1% among the registered voters of Iowa.

Maine is another stronghold of Democrats. ME has 4 Electoral College Votes. According to the poll, Obama currently has a 85.0  % chance of winning Maine’s four Electoral College votes this fall.

Rhode Island is the state Dominated by Democrats. Obama enjoys a huge lead over McCain in RI, which has 4 Electoral College Votes.
