Obama leads McCain in the two pre-election opinion polls conducted in Michigan in the current month. Michigan is one of the important swing states, with 17 Electoral College votes.

Selzer/Detroit Free Press/WDIV conducted Obama McCain MI Poll from Aug 17 to Aug 20. The poll showed Obama leading McCain by 7 % points — 46 % to 39 % among the registered voters of Michigan.
